Two individuals arrested for breach of a property closure order.

Larkswood Safer Neighbourhood Police Team (SNT) have worked closely with the London Borough of Waltham Forest Anti-social behaviour (ASB) officer to get a closure order placed on a property within the ward. A closure order is a legal order that prohibits access to a premises for a specified period. It is typically used by the police to deal with properties associated with serious ASB, drug use and disorder. This order will be in place for 3 months and it is a criminal offence to breach the order without a reasonable excuse. The activities going on at the property were having a negative effect on other residents, impacting their quality of life and causing alarm and distress.

The order has been in place for just under one week and already North SNT officers have arrested two individuals for breaching the closure order. Penalties for this offence can result in an unlimited fine or a prison sentence up to 6 months.
